Natural Capitalism Interview With Hunter Lovins
Alright so I'm not the most techno saavy of people, I couldn't figure out how to post the video directly on here, but here's the address to the interview with Hunter Lovins that gives a very good overview of Natural Capitalism: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzNTRwxlRKg&NR=1

Embed your Powerpoint in a Post with Slideshare!
....what does that even mean?!?
For one, it means you don't have to download powerpoints, instead, you can flip through them on the webpage. (Now you can comment on them, add those youtube videos, and have everyone's on the same page). And two, slideshare is a pretty cool website- it can give you some inspiration when the creative powerpoint juices aren't flowing. There's a whole lot of powerpoints out there.
-So, powerpoint presentations can be uploaded onto the web using a site called www.slideshare.net

Simply upload your powerpoint. This may take up to an hour. I say, upload it, and later in the day, come back to it.
Once uploaded, click on your presentation, and you'll notice there's code available for you to copy and paste so you can then embed it in a post on the blog. When you copy the code, all you have to do is access the blog- if you're here, then you've accessed it properly because this blog is also private. So select 'new post' in the upper right, and simply paste the code into the text box for the post. Click publish post just to see that it actually works. It's like magic.
And that's that! Now- if you want to comment on someone's project, you can do that.
Also- don't forget those youtube videos! Youtube videos can also be embedded into a post- same idea as the powerpoint.

Kiva- Loans that Change Lives
Thinking about biofuels in rural communities the other day reminded me of Kiva- a website that connects lenders to entrepreneurs in need.
?!
Kiva is a microlending organization where you can choose from tons of entrepreneurs all over the world who are trying to start businesses to get their families out of poverty
One of my friends got a 'Kiva gift certificate' for her brother for the holidays. With it, he'll be able to choose what project he wants to give a start-up loan to, and in 6 months, they pay it back.
from the site: Rosalinda Rosales, 30, is married and she's an artisan. She makes typical sashes. She lives with her children and has been in this line of work for 8 years. She lives in Paraje Xecaja, which is in the Poxlajuj territory of the department and municipality of Totonicapán, Guatemala. Currently, demand for her wares has increased but her economic situation does not permit her to increase her capital. For this reason, she has called upon Asociación ASDIR to request financing to buy raw materials with which to increase her sales hoping, thereby, to help her family get ahead in life and to have better living conditions.
What do you guys think?
